Digestive disorder that affects the lower esophageal sphincter, the ring of muscle between the esophagus and stomach

Symptoms - burning sensation in chest (heartburn), dry cough, sensation of lump in your throat, hoarseness or sore throat, acid reflux
Risk factors - Asthma, pregnancy, dry mouth, diabetes, bulging of upper stomach into diaphragm, tissue disorder, high calcium level, use of medicine like prednisone 
Prevention - Exercise, elevate head of the bed, weight loss, avoid eating before lying down, avoid coffee, chocolate, fatty foods, acidic foods and spicy foods.
