Jackfruit - Tropical Fruit

This is mostly cultivated in Sri Lanka, Malaysia, Indonesia, Philippines and Western Ghats of Southern India. A mature jack tree produces some 200 fruits per year, with older trees bearing up to 500 fruits in a year.

Jackfruit is commonly available in canned or frozen, ripen or unripe. Jackfruit has a mild taste and meat-like texture 
that is made into so-called vegetable meat. Jackfruit has a sweet taste like pineapple, banana, and mango when ripe. 

Unripe jackfruit has a texture to chicken or pulled pork and is a substitute for animal meat.
